Stay rules

eVisitor (subclass 651)

Permitted stay
3 months
How it is calculated
An eVisitor allows entry to Australia as often as you wish during the 12 months the visa is valid, and a stay of up to 3 months on each entry. The three months runs from each arrival, so it is counted per visit and not added up across the year.
Effective from
Notes
The eVisitor is open to holders of certain European passports. Whether a traveller needs an eVisitor, an Electronic Travel Authority or a Visitor visa depends on nationality, which DAYOZA does not determine. Because each entry starts a fresh three-month period, this is not a rolling allowance and the Schengen-style calculator does not apply.

Check your stay

Enter when you arrived and the permission you are travelling on, and DAYOZA works out the last day you may still be present. Allowances written in months are treated as calendar periods, not as a fixed number of days.

Optional. Add it to check your plan against the deadline.

A stamped date always wins

Where a border officer has stamped or written a specific date in your passport or on an entry record, that date is the one that counts, not this calculation.

If a rule here is out of date or wrong, tell us. A link to the official page that says otherwise is the most useful thing you can send.

A government page that contradicts what we show.

Only so we can come back with a question.
