How long it lasts
A sponsored residence visa is issued for 1, 2 or 3 years depending on its type and sponsor. It is nullified automatically if the holder stays outside the UAE continuously for more than 180 days.
Who it is for
Certain categories are exempt from the 180-day absence rule, including golden visa holders, those on diplomatic assignment and those receiving approved medical treatment. After a residence permit expires or is cancelled, grace periods reach up to 6 months depending on the resident category; DAYOZA does not guess which applies to you.
